FAQ's - General

The 2023 She Was Going For A Run event has now ended.

You can still make a donation and if you donate €15 we will send you a T-Shirt closer to the start of next year’s donation in February 2024. We will also list all the new hubs near you in January 2024.

If you would like to receive a #SheWasGoingForARun T-shirt please donate €15.

You can take part as an individual, with family, friends or your local community. Local hubs will be set up all over the country which will allow you to take part with your community. These hubs will arrange the meet-up point, route and distance of the walk/run. We will be continuing to update more locations as we near the event. Keep an eye on the Find Hub section on our website. People from all over the world are getting involved!

There are no distance requirements. You can complete whatever distance suits you. As mentioned above, if you choose to take part in your local hub, they will have created the route and distance.

No. Violence against women is a global issue and we encourage everyone around the world to take a stand and get involved. If you want to set up a local hub in another part of the world just get in touch and we will send you some information. You can also join the event virtually by completing a run, walk, cycle or whatever you’d like.

If you are outside of Ireland and would like a T-Shirt, please email us at hello@hersport.ie

No, we encourage all that are interested to get involved in a way that is most comfortable and convenient for them. You can take part wherever you want – this can be your local park, field, sports ground, even your own back garden! It doesn’t have to be a walk or run – you can cycle, swim or do your own activity.

If you are doing this as part of a local hub – this will depend on their criteria. For most local hubs all you’ll have to do is turn up and no sign up will be required. If however you want a T-Shirt, please sign up on this website no later than the 11th February 2023.

No, you can take part as an individual if you please. Groups, clubs, teams or organisations can also take part. Just sign up individually.

We are coming together to take a stand and start a conversation against the REAL fears women face on a daily basis. We are also raising funds that will go towards Women’s Aid.
